Little Eggy Eggplane VF-1A/J Hasegawa Part 02

Pesty PEST-X-san by Kotobukiya review Part 02

I present to you the second write-up to the original post of the PEST-X-san kit by Kotobukiya. This time, she's been (amateurishly) painted on her zippers and her USB connector. Some interior joints were also painted to (according to certain experts) make her joints less loose.

But first here's a few shots of the packaging that the kit came in.








Cute.


This is her with the 'look right' eyes. There's a white piece inside that you have to exchange to get the eye changing effect.


I didn't have silver so white was the next best thing. I then line arted the interior edges.


Eggplaine decides to sit somewhere in the back. He's tired.


Yes she has sticky stuff stuck to the underneath of her feet to maintain stability.


That USB thing I decided to color for all the wrong reasons I'm sure.


Now I just need to get the matte coating spray.

Hasbro Arc-170 Fighter Review

Received this as a birthday gift from my good fat Austriranian friend.


Looks pretty cool I must say. But that's only the box art.


Comes in a few easy to snap-on pieces.


There. Done in 5 minutes.


Wing things flip up. Wookiepedia says that those things work like a heatsink or something.


There's a secret hidden within the underbelly.


IT'S A HANDLE! WITH A TRIGGER.


The trigger opens up the bomb bay from which two little bomblets (which highly resemble anal-plugs[which I definitely have no experience with]) will drop on to the floor, your friends head or an unreachable corner under your desk. You have to manually stick them back in there to 'reload'.


Sometimes the instructions suggest to me that the manual-writers are writing about a different product. The green triangles you see above are numbered 5 and 6.



But on the sticker set, 5 and 6 are these crazy long blackish things.


Ick. (I removed them later)


More evidence that the manual writers are dreaming. The labelled "buttons" aren't actually buttons.


See? That is clearly not a button.


The actual button is that thing over here.


Well let's see what else do we have here on the sticker pad. Oh. Scorch marks.


Oh wow how photo-realistic.


OoOh~ my fighter just got bullet-holed!


If I thought that the manual writers couldn't get anything else wrong, I was wrong. More proof that the manual-writers were writing about a different product. The 'bomb' on the manual was of a different design.


Holding it by the handle felt sturdy and secure. It's pretty damn big and heavy. But feels durable.


The Clone Turbo Tank would have been more of interest to me. Though it'd probably have some other weird screwed up anomaly in its manual.


I was about to throw the packaging out when I realized that it is unnecessarily pretty in there.


Then I realized that it was a diorama if folded properly.


It's now sitting on a vacant CPU in the office.


With 501st Legionnaire and basic generic Clone Trooper guy. As you can see, a lot more detailing is required to achieve the look displayed on the box. As of now, it is in a matte finish together with flat coloring.


There's also a teddy in the pit in which droids usually sit in.

Overall, nice product but the manual and stickers need some improvement.

Pesty PEST-X-san by Kotobukiya review

Recently ordered a Kotobukiya PEST-X-san figure from Hobby Japan for a relatively cheap price of RM116 including shipping. I saw one for sale for RM128 here.

Anyway the package was recieved by I in about 5 days. Came in a nice big box with lots of padding(snicker).

The box art for the figure is pretty nice. Don't have a picture though, sorry.


I just won't get tired about saying that I can't believe that there's a PEST-X-san in there.


Butter tocks. Mmm. ♥


I wonder what this curvy piece is supposed to be.


Yes. I am taking full advantage of the situation.


Hmm 1:1 scale is right! That USB port looks pretty much like the one that I can plug my printer cable into.


Pretty sure that this is intentional but: AARGH COCKROACH.


Cute and sexy cockroach. ♥






I think something went wrong during assembly, I can't seem to be able to pull down her scarf without first removing the two front leather jacket pieces. Now you are able to see her wicked grin.

The figure is nice and adorable and it looks good even without paint detailing. However, posing the figure is quite difficult. You won't be able to pose her without dropping a few other pieces in the process. Me not having plastic glue may have something to do with this.

Posing is also quite limited due to the way her joints work. I'm not sure whether because this is a humanoid character so the joints aren't able to bend as properly as Bandai's gundams or not. Therefore poses such as the above need a helping hand(har).



Overall nicely designed figure/model but posing is really difficult due to the amount of clothing and other apparel on her. A lot of her costume and even hair contribute to the imbalance of the model making it quite hard to get her to stand nicely on your desk-top. At least for me. That amateur hobby kit builder guy.
